Root aphids or soil mites

We have been dealing with insane numbers of tiny bugs crawling aimlessly on our pots and soil. We convinced ourselves they were soil mites but now we are going back to root aphids becuase we CANNOT get rid of them. For the most part our plants are all healthy except a lost leaf here and there. We just ordered a microscope but we are not feeling hopeful. SO ANY AND ALL ADVICE on getting rid of root aphids is greatly appreciated. We have so many expensive plants on the line here 🫠😭😭 #pestcontrol #pestid #help #plantsmakepeoplehappy
Hi @kaitlyn21 , you have a few options:

The fastest method: Repot by removing the plant and rinsing off the roots then spritzing them with hydrogen peroxide. Get rid of the pot and soil and start over.

You can spray the plant with hydrogen peroxide to disrupt the life cycle and πŸ’€ the larvae. I like to add a little hydrogen p to my water at each watering since my babies require constant and consistently moist soil. Keeps the pests under control.

Or, you could use diatomaceous earth and wait it out.

Finally, you could use beneficial nematodes to make it a volatile living environment for them.

I always go for the fastest method when I don’t want to wait. I hope that helps!
@AnthuriumQueen How much hydrogen peroxide do you add to the water
@kaitlyn21 hi Kaitlyn. I just bumped into your post I seem to have similar issue right now, and I cannot figure if there are soil mites or aphids, they are white, tiny and crawl really fast. So do you mind me asking if you managed to identify the bugs? And did your plant survive ?
