I believe this may be root rot. ☹️ cactus soil needs to dry out between waterings

@PremiumBroccoli I would do some research but I believe you can cut it off and reroot the top part since it appears to be healthy. If the brown part is soft I would look into this article and hopefully it helps! https://worldofsucculents.com/cactus-going-soft/
