Yes you can! I would wait for it to get a little bigger first (my pup is the same size as the mother now 😂 and still attached!).
When you're ready, it shouldn't take much force AT ALL to separate them, so be gentle with her.
As I'm sure you know, air plants don't have "normal" roots! Rather, a small hard disc at the base of the plant which serves as the roots... All in saying is please don't try and prop her like you would any other plant, coz she won't like it! 😂 X
