Will hydrogen peroxide get rid@of this mold?

Chopped my dead fearn down to the base, and ive scraped this mold off once already

I’m not totally opposed to throwing it all away but I read today about getting rid of mold with hydrogen peroxide, will it hurt the new growth of my fern? #PlantAddict #IdahoeThatGarden #idahome

Hi! Diluted hydrogen peroxide could work great but I usually use it with my water propagations. I’m not sure how it’ll work with this once since it’s in soil but I would guess a 50/50 ratio.
U can also scrape mold off an then sprinkle some cinnamon on top an mix around soil
Yes, like @gAnderson said, cinnamon should work well for you
I agree with @RealSimpleMama - the Sarahs have to stick together - hydrogen peroxide will be easier on your soil. Too much cinnamon can cause the soil to be hydrophobic and can cause a lot of issues. οΏΌοΏΌ
That could also be hard water salts from your tap water. Switching to filtered or purified water may help. I didn't mention rainwater because that's not possible for me.
@sarahsalith DOUBLE SARAH POWER! We gotta stick together 😎
@UnsurpassedMum I’ve wondered that as well, I’m going to try distilled for the next couple months and see.
Thanks @sarahsalith @RealSimpleMama! Do I need to just do it once? If more than once how often?
@bpark you can do it whenever you get the itch.

Mold happens when wet soil does nothing in still air. If you can get the air to move about a few times a day (maybe a fan) that should help with the mold issues.
