Red Valerian cuttings? ✂️🌱

My parent picked up this lil guy years ago from Sevilla and decided to see if it grew, because they though it was pretty. I just now identified it and it seems to be a Red Valerian (Centranthus ruber).

I would like to propagate it and get one myself for a pot to grow, without harming the original since its the only here and I would hate to kill it.

Anyone has any idea on how to do it? Dividing it its a no since I don't wanna harm the original roots, so perhaps a cutting?

Actually, I'm wrong! It must be propagated through root division or seeds.

I found this:

"Propagation-

The red valerian is extremely vigorous and propagates reliably in the garden by self-sowing. If pink and white plants are combined in a bed, the seedlings will be countless shades of color. Older plants can also be propagated in autumn by division, with more reliable seeding."

*EDIT: I AM INCORRECT*

I would definitely try a cutting. I don't see why that would not work.
