Prayer plant in trouble?
Hello, Iβm wondering what is wrong with my green prayer plant. It does not seem to be growing or producing new leaves. The stems seem like they canβt hold up. Should I try to straighten up the prayer plant using an anchor? I have been spritzing at least daily and using a humidifier. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Hey Larissa π don't worry! There's actually nothing wrong with her π Maranta Leuconeura are actually ground cover in the wild, they grow a bunch of leaves on those spindly stems, so they won't stand up by themselves very well, but they creep or hang beautifully! I would get her in a hanging basket and let her trail.
I have one a similar size and only realised this after some research because mine, like yours, is one thin stem with an ever increasing bunch of leaves on top than at just making her top heavy! π I did put a stake in with her at first but took it out once I realised she wants to be a ground hugging plant π xx

@JenniB81 Thank you for the encouragement and advice!!! And for sharing your great insight and photos. I will look into transferring into a hanging pot. Have to figure out where I will hang it. π€ Decisions Decisions π
I know, I'm the same... I'm running out of space so hanging seemed like a good idea but we're in the middle of renovations so .. everywhere is chaos at the moment! π€¦ββοΈπ€£ She'll be totally fine as she is while she grows... Once she's got a few more leaves I'm looking to propagate mine and add the new plant back into the pot once it's rooted (mine's in soil and I like to see the roots develop! π€£) to fill her out and THEN I'm going to hang her... Possibly in my bathroom, since they're suckers for humidity but don't like TOO much bright light (but that goes for like 90% of my hundred and something plants coz I LOVE tropicals! π€£).
Yous like big enough to prop already tbh, if you're feeling brave! π And you've got her light perfect, her colour is beautiful! It took me a while to find mine's "happy place" (I had one leaf come out really dark so moved her, and the next one almost bleached because she has to much bright light π€¦ββοΈ but she's growing nicely now π) xx

@JenniB81 Ha! π€£ Iβm absolutely not feeling brave enough to try to propagate her! I wouldnβt know where to cut and if I ruined her, I would have a fit. I have only tried propagating pothos. I was instructed to cut at the nodes. Came out okay. Oh and my dracaena. I was not intending to propagate it but just to cut it back some after I scorched a few of the leaves. But I butchered it π so Iβm trying to see if the top will make another one. I still have the butchered one but itβs outside. It just pained me to much to see it everyday π’ππ So Iβm a little scissor scared right now. π€£π Iβm happy that you will be doing it! Hope you will share pics! ππ½
