Hi! As your plant is indoors and in NE window, I doubt it needs to be watered everyday. The more light, the more water plants tend to need. If you have a S window, I think your Marigold might be happier. Next time you are thinking about watering it, check the soil with your finger or a wooden skewer. If damp/moist, don’t water.
It is possible that your plant developed root rot. To check, gently take the plant out of the pot and check it’s roots. If you find any mushy roots and/or smelly soil, it has root rot. To try to save it, cut away all mushy roots, rinse soil from roots and rinse in hydrogen peroxide 3% to kill off any bacteria. Repot in a clean, smaller container with drainage and fresh soil. Throw the old soil out. Hope these tips help! πŸͺ΄πŸ’š
