Hi! As your plant is indoors and in NE window, I doubt it needs to be watered everyday. The more light, the more water plants tend to need. If you have a S window, I think your Marigold might be happier. Next time you are thinking about watering it, check the soil with your finger or a wooden skewer. If damp/moist, donβt water.
It is possible that your plant developed root rot. To check, gently take the plant out of the pot and check itβs roots. If you find any mushy roots and/or smelly soil, it has root rot. To try to save it, cut away all mushy roots, rinse soil from roots and rinse in hydrogen peroxide 3% to kill off any bacteria. Repot in a clean, smaller container with drainage and fresh soil. Throw the old soil out. Hope these tips help! πͺ΄π
