Hi Christina. Can the white spots be wiped off or are they embedded in the leaf? Also, can you share a pic of the entire plant?
Hey Steph! Thanks for your response. Although the spots look like they could be wiped off, they can't.
*I'm assuming it happened before I propagated it.
I think that is how it is supposed to be.
@ZanyIceplant73 I agree with @BeeBalm , I think you have a "splash" variety of Hoya with white variegation.
Here's a leaf of one of my Hoya with white variegation
I agree with @stephonicle and @BeeBalm. It's 100% just splash. Many hoyas get splashy, many are even bred for more splash like in @stephonicle's example. Some even to the point of appearing almost completely white/ silver. Splash is not caused by a lack of chlorophyll in the leaves, but rather by little "air bubbles" under the surface, if I remember correctly. Some only have very little splash and that often looks exactly like this. If I find the time later, I will add a few example pictures, if I remember later, but for now I have a sick dog sleeping on my thigh ๐Ÿ˜… but my main point is: don't worry. It's not a disease or pest, it looks very healthy to me and just like it should.
Thank you so much everyone! I'm grateful for your kind responses!
No worries. Btw: When you address specific people in the future, it helps to tag them because we sadly do not get automatically notified of any new answers under threads we participated in. Only the original poster (in this case you), is. Have fun with your healthy hoya.
Ah. Btw, here are the long overdue promised splash pictures in as wide a range as I could find. All normal, no pests involved, just pretty.
