Mealy Bug on well watered Succulent πŸ™„πŸ«

So last week I noticed some weird white fine stringy stuff on this succulent and I was like 😱 oh no! spider mites!😱 but then I wasn’t sure if it was just the plants fuzz because it’s also fuzzy. Either way, i sprayed it with insecticidal soap and let it sit for 5 minutes and washed it down so I could pat dry the leaves. The leafs hold water because of the fuzzes so I needed to make sure to dry them. I didnt see any bugs that time but this morning I found a MeaLY BUG! It hasn’t been a week since I treated it last and I want to treat it again but I’m scared that will lead to over watering because I’m sure right now it’s at full capacity of water in leaves.

I was wondering, should I just remove it from the soil and treat it or should I just treat it in the pot, cross my fingers and hope it doesn’t rot? 😬 the foliage is very rough fuzz almost like Velcro so i don’t think alcohol on a Q-tip will work on this plant because it will just take all the q-tip fuzz off 🀭 so I think I have to continue taking the insecticidal soap method. πŸ˜” sad because it’s one of my favorites.

@PlantingPeace oh you don't have to rinse it! Insecticidal soap (at least the ones I've used) aren't harsh at all.
You can insecticidal soap every day if you want. I'm a bit confused how spraying the plant with the soap will lead to overwatering.
@RJG because I have to rinse it off and the water goes down into the soil πŸ«£πŸ˜…
@RJG 🫣 okay, I’ll try it! 😭 I’m trusting you Drew 😰 don’t fail me now πŸ˜… and thank you 😊
@PlantingPeace I love using Neem Oil on everything. It has never failed me.
Hope your fav plant improves! The insecticidal soap sounds like a good remedy. 😍
@KikiGoldblatt thank you πŸ₯Ί I’m trying to reserve use of neem oil unless it’s super needed for a bad infestation πŸ˜… but I will keep that in my back pocket
@Pegster thank you πŸ€— I hope so too πŸ˜”πŸ’–
