what should I do? Is this okay?

I got this kalanchoe a bit ago from my mom and it has been doing okay, but recently the stem on the smaller growth started drying out and causing the plant to fall over. Should I cut the good bit off and try to propagate it or just leave it? I’m new to growing succulents so I don’t know what to do!

I’d take the sick plant out of the pot, cut off the healthy part of the stem, let it callous and then try to prop it.
