Would anyone like to do a plant trade?
I live in Pakistan so it can be hard with shipping fee and customs restrictions but with the many number of wonderful people here I would love to create some long term plant pen pals

Right now I'm just swamped with moringa seeds from the two trees that surround my garden plot, besides that there's Amaltas (golden shower tree) , sukh chain (Indian Beech tree), kachnar (Bauhinia variegata), ber (Ziziphus mauritiana), a whole lot of Clitorea/ butterfly pea seeds.

I really love this idea! However, I think it would be extremely hard to make it work with USDA regulations. Countries do not mess with seeds from other places. I remember going to Galapagos it was like we were being searched by the FBI.
Even if the seeds were able to come through, most seeds for planting also require separate permits or some sort of documentation to even be allowed to plant it.
I hope they figure out a better way to go about this eventually!

@Bmd yes I did look through it, all tho it is more harder for me to get something rather than it is for me to send it, I can use the 50 seeds per pack import permit to easily send seeds but for me to receive they have to go through expensive import permit and phystosantairy certificates.

@GardenCat43 Ah, that makes sense. I misunderstood, I thought you were saying the difficult part was sending them out. I just know that the acceptance of the shipment isnβt solely determined by the senders permit /seed permit - each individual case will still be subject to denial by USDA. And because some of the species produce fruit like Ber , it could become more difficult. Hopefully youβre able to find people in countries where the import process is a little easier. Itβs a really cool idea.
Thatβs a great idea, and I hope some people can actually do this with you. Yes, USA customs π is very tricky even with seeds. Like Brandon said, they can get really tricky due to certain insects that can be carried. It requires so much quarantine on each side. So just make sure even with seeds that they donβt have to be planted within a certain amount of time or they donβt germinate. That would be my only suggestion. @GardenCat43 οΏΌ if you are in this kind of thing, I would research Landrace strains οΏΌ thereβs video on YouTube that shows people traveling to other countries and getting strains and seeds and bringing them back and showing the whole procedure.
