New Plant, Help
So, I got this plant right before a week long vacation. I left it for a family member to take care of. Neither of us have ever had a Thai basil. He was happy and bright green before I left, and now heβs cranky. Looks dead, but his leafs arenβt crunchy so Iβm hoping he can be saved. What do I need to do to bring him back to health and how should I take care of him in general?? #NewPlants #HappyPlants #NewPlantMom #NewGrowth #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

It has some living tissue so it can probably come back. Does it need water? The top of the soil looks dry (idk if itβs more moist further down)
I would remove any parts that are fully beyond crispy/dead but be very careful around anything that is clearly alive. Watch how much sun itβs getting, if you get more dieback even though it has sufficient water, whatever summer sun itβs getting may be too much and it may need a little more shade.
Also if it starts to flower at some point, pinch off the flower buds immediately⦠once it puts its energy into flowering, the leaves turn bitter and it puts all its energy into producing seeds, then it dies

@smushface, I agree it looks very dehydrated check the soil above and under it. Maybe take it out of the sun because I think that is causing some problems and put it in the shade where it gets a bit of sun.
