Should I trim these bottom leaves?
Recently my Chinese money plant has been a bit sad 😢. I haven’t changed anything and the only thing I could think of is that I overwatered it. The bottom section of leaves are looking weak and leggy. @Succulent_Soul those aren’t leggy 🙂 Those are the petioles or “leaf stems” but they are different from the actual main stem of your plant. Like we were talking about the other day, it’s only “leggy” when the main stem starts stretching for more light. I screenshotted yours and marked where your main stem is, in red. Yours looks like they are very happy in that spot. Your stem is quite compact, that is good!
You could trim those leaves off if they really are bothering you, but I’m a proponent of letting your plant decide if and when they are ready to drop those leaves. ☺️ 💁♀️ They are the oldest ones, so it’s normal to see the oldest leaves droop a bit like this after the plant has expended energy growing new leaves and all those little babies you have 🙌
Just make sure you are letting the soil dry out THOROUGHLY, and waiting to see signs of the leaves cupping upwards before you water again. Have you been rotating your plant? If the oldest leaves are not actually going through normal leaf die off, they may just be wanting their turn in the sunshine ☀️
