My plant sits on my porch and only gets morning sun. But ...

#PeaceLily
6ft to light, direct
12” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Cause it’s in a large pot it should only need watering once every few weeks especially over winter, peace lilys are awesome for telling you when they need water cause the leaves start to droop a bit. I would recommend paying attention to the leaves and let it tell you when it’s thirsty! Once watered the leaves should perk back up by the following day, doesn’t harm the plant at all.

Hi Rhonda!

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. ❀️ 😍 πŸ’–

By waiting for your Peace Lily's leaves to droop, you are putting her into a stress mode, which is not good for any plant.

Continuously doing this will eventually make your Lily weak.

Best to water before she droops...

Oh!

I forgot to add in my answer...if you're using tap water that contains chemicals, (city or town water) you'll want to change to distilled, deep well, or rainwater.

Tap water contains chemicals added that can kill plants πŸͺ΄ 😳 but supposedly not harmful to humans.

Also, misting creates a continous moist layer on the plant's topsoil, which leads to fungal and bacterial infections.
It also is the perfect environment for those pesky fungus gnats to lay their eggs.

Instead of misting, a good humidifier is the way to go!

Hoping these tips help and wishing you joy 😊 πŸ˜ƒ and all the best on your plant journey!
