Hi there! I recently got a String of Bananas, and I was wondering.. Is this window location alright? It's west facing, and the plant does receive direct sun for quite a lot of the afternoon. Is direct sun too harsh for this plant?

Lovely plant. It looks good in that window. This little darling will do best inside with very bright light, morning direct sun shaded in the afternoon. To strong sun will burn the leaves.

If the bananas become thin, stretched out, and spaced further apart, then they need more light. The new growth looks a bit thin compared to the old growth. It will probably survive where you have it, but I would try to find a brighter spot—not necessarily direct light, but very bright for a longer period of the day.

Also, turn that SOB 😉every so often to ensure that it's getting sunlight on all sides.  Helps to ensure even growth.
