Mold on my ‘lemon lime’???
Is this mold? Im not sure what I’ve done wrong, I hardly water it as it is winter in the UK and it sits in a north facing window. The soil has been damp for a while now so I haven’t watered in a month or two. It’s only felt dry today so I’ve watered it and noticed this. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #LemonLimePrayerPlant

This kind of white ‘mold’ (in quotes because I believe it might be a fungus) is harmless from what I gather, and naturally occurring—helping break down organic matter. But it does flourish in wet soil. If your soil has been staying danp for a month or two you might need to add some aeration to it, like perlite, pumice, bark, coco chips.
I would also be concerned about root rot if it’s been damp for that long. Root rot is caused by a bacteria and will need to be treated with something like hydrogen peroxide if it’s present. Look for any mushy roots, or when the outer root sloughs off leaving a tiny root hair in the center. You will need to trim any affected parts with sterilized scissors/knife, soak the the root ball in a 1 part water to 3 parts 3% hydrogen peroxide for 5 minutes, and repot in fresh soil.
