Leaves very compact, Leaves curling inward

I just got my polkadot plant yesterday. She’s super compact with leaves and baby leaves. I originally bought her while she was in a 4-inch pot and the roots were all the way at the top of the container. I repot her in a large pot (might be too big) and I just want to know how to encourage the leaves to spread out. I also wanna know why the leaves are curled inward? (I did mist her with water) Should I be concerned? #PolkaDotPlant

Hi Jazelle, let’s figure out what is going on with you sweet polka dot plant! My first thought is she is in too big of a pot. If she was originally in a 4-inch pot, you only need to move her up an inch or two in pot size. This pot may also be a little too deep for the cute little plant. If you JUST repotted the plant the leaves may be acting that way because of transplant shock. I would look for a smaller pot to move her into. She will adjust and produce move leaves for you.
It could be a temperature or humidity change. It’s been a bit cooler where I am and mine is doing this too.
Once you have her in the right size pot, she will start to give you now growth, but these plants also LOVE to be pruned regularly so they can be nice and full and not get too leggy. They also love a very humid environment and a warm spot to sit in your home with bright indirect light.
@theloveofplants Hi! Yes I just repot the plant and I do agree it may be too deep. I did just buy it yesterday and the leaves were already inward. Do I repot again in a smaller pot or should I wait a couple days more?
@BigwigSnowpeas Great question, I would maybe wait a few days to let the soil dry out. Then once you replant her, put her in new, dry soil. Then give her a good watering, just enough to make the soil damp, not soaking wet.
@theloveofplants will wait a couple days, and repot her in a 6-inch pot. Thank you!
