black spots on monstera minima
hi all, iβm hoping someone can help me work out whatβs happening to my monstera minima (rhapidophora tetrasperma). iβve tried increasing the humidity, and the leaves itβs happening to are both facing the sun and not facing the sun, so I donβt think itβs sunburn. itβs mainly happening on some of the older leaves, and there is an incredible amount of new (normal) growth. thanks:)
currently sits right next to a large east facing window (and i donβt have any windows that face other directions)

@Elizabethbeacon Those black spots could be due to various factors. Since it's not sunburn and you've already upped the humidity, consider these: Watering: Overwatering can lead to fungal issues. Make sure the pot has good drainage, and let the top inch or two of soil dry out before watering again. Pests: Check for pests like spider mites or mealybugs. They can sometimes cause discoloration on leaves. Leaf Aging: Older leaves naturally yellow and develop spots as they age. This is normal, and as long as new growth looks healthy, you shouldn't worry too much about the older leaves. Keep observing your Mini Monstera, adjust care as needed, and it should continue to thrive and produce beautiful new growth. Feel free to share more details if you have any specific concerns!
@JungleDreamer thank you so much !! thereβs definitely no pests and no visible fungal issues. my next thought is that it could be irregular watering so I hope watering it on more of a schedule will help !
