Can you propagate these plant leaves?
Hi Makayla,
You are 100% able to propagate a Ficus. However, if Iβm understanding correctlyβ¦ you mean just the leaf ? No stem no node?
In that case, ficus actually can produce roots from just a leaf. But it will not send out another shoot. In other words, it will not create another plant. But the leaf can stay alive a really long time if you root the leaf.
For the ficus (and most houseplants) you want find the node on the stem. Cut at roughly 45Β° angle 1/2 an inch below the node. Put that in some water to grow roots. Plant it and youβll have a whole new plant.
