Mushrooms?

Houston, do I have a problem? In both my string of things plants I have these funky mushrooms growing in them. I’ve never seen this in any of my plants until now. I recently repotted them into these cute star terracotta planters and I waited a week to water then… this. #mushrooms #PlantAddict #PropagationStation
1ft to light, indirect
5” pot without drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago
@SweetBlueGarden I've got my turtles planted in the same terracotta pots!! But lost a few when I separated them to share them with my sister 😭 I definitely don't regret it. I know they'll come back. 😁 Mushrooms are usually a moisture problem but it can also mean that you have good organic soil. But both creates perfect mushroom growing conditions. They aren't going to hurt your plant or anything. Just pluck it out then wash your hands really well. Keep an eye on them. The soil dries out quicker in those pots so you might need to water more often. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
@princesspitstop ah! Yes. I saw them at Walmart and couldn’t resist. Thank you. I did switch my soil to β€œBack to the Roots” organic mix so that must be it. I’ll keep an eye on them
@SweetBlueGarden Yep that must be it! Have a great Thursday!
@princesspitstop you too!
Inky caps!?!?! My favorite mushroom! They tend to seek moisture, they don’t really do much but melt into black ink
I heard a tale from my mom which isn’t really a tale- said that inky caps only appear for one day. I use to get this all over my fromt yard and my neighbors.
@Saturn572 that’s so cool. I didn’t even check if they were there today. I was gonna get rid of them during my plant chore day
@SweetBlueGarden fun fact! They were once used as writing ink!
