It looks like mealy bugs idk what the others are or if it's dirt. You need to either give it fresh soil (carefully wash old dirt off roots and any other mealys you may see) or spray the dirt with alcohol. It kills them instantly but they get in all hard to reach spots. Make sure you wipe your plant down after spray with a q tip or toilet paper, something soft, to get all the pests off.
@no direct sunlight for minimum 3 days if you spray with alcohol and if you use neem then do so in the late evening/night
@KrunchyWrap Thanks! What type of alcohol do you reccomend?
@ehawk1 use regular rubbing alcohol, but I would mix it with water. One part alcohol and 2 parts water. Straight alcohol did a number on my Ficus Ginseng just saying π₯²
Iβm a strong believer in bonide systematic poison after having a super bad mealy bug infestation. The sprays were damaging the delicate leaves of my succulent worse than the bugs. So I used this. And it was amazing. As long as it isnβt a plant you will eat in any way than this is great!!! Anything trying to eat the plant dies since the roots absorb the poison thru the roots when itβs mixed in the soil. It will stay in the plants system for months keeping anything from eating it in any way
Not all plants are that delicate and some can handle the sprays but I tried insecticidal soap and neem oil and poison and the mealy bugs kept multiplying and coming back. Until I used that bonide.
No longer had horrible damage to my plant and no longer had any bugs. The plant looked so bad it almost looked hopeless. Now itβs prettier than it has ever been

@SirLiquorice I'm glad you posted that bc I need something for my big in ground garden bc I don't have enough alcohol for all that nonsense, neem didn't work, and soap water worked for some but hurt others. I'll definitely check this out
@KrunchyWrap As long as it isnβt for edible fruits or Vegetables or anything. Because that poison stays in the plants system so you donβt want to be eating that. But if itβs a garden with non edible stuff then I highly recommend that stuff
@KrunchyWrap it works better than anything else I have ever tried and the plant looks so good now. It was almost a total loss.
Almost gave up on the plant. It was the last resort and it should have been the first thing I tried since it wasnβt an edible plant anyway. It was way too delicate to spray anything on it also. The sprays did way too much damage

@KrunchyWrap even safer brand spray with soap, poison and neem oil was too harsh
@SirLiquorice iβll def be checking this out, thanks so much
@ehawk1 I just had to deal with Mealybugs my self on my neon pothos. I put rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and sprayed mine down again. I just cleaned it the other day but found more. They are sneaky pests that hide everywhere.
@SirLiquorice yea I have 3 separate gardens and only 1 is edible, which I desperately need something for that too. Is it good against beetles? I need something to help with wasps, hornets, and black widow too π
@DormantDerrick very useful, thanks!
@KrunchyWrap We always used Sevin dust on our edible garden and it seems to keep everything away that wants to chew on the plants.
For the wasps and hornets the best thing is to find the nest and spray it, but if you can't find it the hanging traps work pretty well to collect the ones that try to hang out in the garden.
I don't know what to do about the black widows but the Sevin might help with those as well. It used to only be a dust but I think they make it in various formats now and they may have specialty formulas also.
I don't think it qualifies as organic but I do know it works

@SirLiquorice, since it stays in the plant, is it dangerous for pets who might nibble on the plant or is it too low a concentration to hurt them?β¦ π€
@ehawk1 I just use the 90% isopropyl and dilute it a little with water. I do half and half but sometimes more alcohol than the water. Sorry took so long to reply i I just seen where you tagged me
Some??? π€’π€’π€’π€’ looks like a brood of aphids!!! Rubbing alcohol and water spray or an insecticide if you have one on hand. Dawn soap will also do the trick, you can mix it in with the rubbing alcohol and water. Separate it from the rest of your plants and spray it outside so they donβt jump onto other plants once you start spraying.
@KikiGoldblatt tell me about it, they were infesting my Hoya compacta Hindu rope!!! F ers
