Is there a way to make this rosemary rise up?
I got this rosemary for a week and I know the pot is having a small mouth but the body is actually very long, but I did check on the roots, they look white and strong, long as well. I made a mistake of watering it too frequently but I had stopped it, which was 2 days ago. Since the weather at my place was gloomy and still pretty cold, I have the rosemary inside (24ยฐC) and an indoor growing light installed 2 days ago. Please let me know if I can do anything- I also checked the soil, it is very drainage. Thanks #rosemary #droopy #wilted

@veggiedevour Rosemary and Basil both need to be in pots with drainage holes so the water you give it has somewhere to go. Roots need oxygen to breathe and if they're surrounded by dense soil or water then they are essentially suffocating. It might not be too late to make the changes necessary to turn it around but in case it isn't I'll give you what you need to be successful in the future. They need a 50/50 mix of potting soil and pearlite. Only watering the plant when the top inch or two of soil is dry. You can use your finger to put down into the soil. If it's wet to the touch wait to water it until the 2nd knuckle of your finger feels dry. Most herbs also need 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day they aren't going to get that unless they are in a very sunny window or better yet outside 21ยฐC is good if not higher. If they didn't make it this time, it's ok, try again! We've all made mistakes when we started out. No big deal! You'll just be better prepared for your next attempt.๐๐๐
This isn't a pot, it's a glass vase without any drainage holes at the bottom. Without drainage holes, it doesn't have good drainage. Drainage holes are essential for plant health, they help the soil dry out faster and also allow excess fertilizer and mineral buildup to be flushed out. Rosemary needs excellent drainage to thrive, so I'd recommend moving it into a pot with plenty of drainage holes at the bottom. They like their soil to dry out quite a bit between waterings. Not bone dry, but the top half of the soil should feel dry to the touch. They also need LOTS of direct sun. The more sun, the better. But if it hasn't been getting enough light, you'll need to gradually acclimate it so it doesn't burn. Rosemary is actually quite cold hardy, even the less "robust" types can handle temps down to -6ยฐC and as high as 38ยฐC. So here are my final suggestions:
โข change to a pot with proper drainage holes (a regular plastic nursery pot is perfect)
โข place it somewhere with FULL direct sun for 6-8 hours a day
โข allow the soil to almost completely dry out between waterings, then slowly soak until it pours out drainage holes. Then let it almost completely dry out again, and so on.
โข rosemary is a hardy shrub that can tolerate temps from -6ยฐC to 38ยฐC, so there's no need to move it inside (unless the temperature is expected to fall outside this range)

I am terrible at taking care of plants but my Rosemary is thriving for reference. I live in zone 7 and it seems fairly happy with even inconsistent waterings as long as it gets a decent amount of sun. But like everyone else is saying the biggest thing I've noticed is drainage holes are really important, especially for this plant
