My peace lily is dropping, but I'm not scheduled to water it again for 6 days. There is no way my plant can wait this long. Should I water now with the amount suggested by the app?

I’m no expert but I often water earlier than they’re scheduled if they are looking like they need it! If the top inch or so of the soil is super dry I don’t think there’s any harm in watering

Hi Carla, Personally I find the Greg apps watering recommendations to be off on occasion. I may suggest that you try the chopstick test. That is put a chopstick in the soil. Be careful not to disturb the roots. If soil sticks to it , it’s too wet. No soil sticking to it means it’s too dry.

The app's watering reminders are more suggestions than anything. Also let the plant and the soil tell you when it needs to be watered. There are countless variables unique to your environment the app can't possibly take into account. Sometimes that means watering early, sometimes that means hitting the snooze button and waiting. I also don't pay attention to the amount of water the app suggests. The correct way to water is to slowly pour until it starts to come out drainage holes, then stop. The more you use the app, the more accurate the recommendations should become...but I've been using the app for almost 4 years and it's still way off on many of my plants so 🤷🏻‍♀️
