This is spreading. One or two leafs have withered away. Is this rust? I have Dr. Earth fungicide, will that work? #AloeVera

Aloe rust is a fungal disease that causes black or brown circular spots on aloe leaves, reports Succulent Plant. The blackened area oxidizes and seals itself from the rest of the plant, and the discoloration does not spread. Prevention is the best control for this disease.

Spray a solution of one teaspoon of baking soda in one quart of water to help fight the rust. Foliar fungicides may also help. In one article I read, the author recommended using copper oxychloride. Sooty mold is a fungal infection that can accompany infestation by aphids or mealy bugs.
