@Mersadies22 Iβm going to tag a couple of folks who have lots of monstera propagation experience π. @DreamMachine @princesspitstop @Ponytailmom
@Mersadies22 Id recommend cutting them into smaller chunks to propogate. That said, Iβve found that these take quite awhile to grow roots (as compared to quickies like pothos and tradescantias). I wouldnβt worry about the yellow leaves as long as the stem isnβt rotting ππ»
@Mersadies22 Smaller pieces when propagating makes it easier for the plant to focus on making roots. Like @debbiedo said yellow leaves are just a part of it. Every so often look at the end of the stem to make sure it's not getting mushy. If it is just cut it off a little higher up closer to the next node. You can also cut a piece of a Pothos off and put it in the same water as your plant. Pothos give off a growth hormone that helps with rooting. βΊοΈπ
@Mersadies22 @MariansOasis @debbiedo @princesspitstop I agree with everyone else. Also, how long have they been in water? It can take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months to root. But you wanna know my new secret thats not a secret because I tell literally everybody? SEEDLING HEAT MAT, it really helps things root because temperature is one of the most important factors for new root growth.
Like when things start growing in the spring under the ground, itβs not the light those seeds can sense, itβs the earth warming up that spark spring growth.
I will put my heat mat down on usually a wooden shelf, something thats not going to suck the heat away like stone, and then I put a seedling tray down, or you could even just put a towel down, and the I put my prop jars on top of that ππΌ

@DreamMachine it hasnβt been in water long.. a little over a week. I was more worried about the leaves turning yellow and brown but the root and stem still look great! And I have heard of one of those before! Great idea!
