Plant ID

Anyone know what this is? I got it at a plant swap a month ago. It’s labeled Jacob’s Coat Ruby Glow. Google doesn’t think that’s a plant variety. It looks similar to Jacob’s Coat, although the colors are solid and the leaves aren’t serrated
Hi Kat! I took your photo, cropped it and went to Google and this is what it told me— “This is a young Alternanthera plant, likely a variety such as 'Little Ruby' or 'Purple Prince', which is prized for its vibrant foliage. The plant features deep burgundy to purple leaves and stems, and it thrives in full sun to part shade. It is a relatively low-maintenance foliage plant often used in containers or as a ground cover in garden beds.Giving it more direct light will produce deeper, richer purple coloring in the leaves.”. And this photo is what it shows for a more mature plant. I hope this helps. I’ll also add some tags so other Greggers will see it and might be able to better help you. #NewGrowth #PlantID #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict
Thanks! Google Gemini is super helpful. That looks exactly the same!
