Poinsettias are hardy in zones 9-11. I looked up the hardiness zone for your location, which is 9b. So yes, your poinsettia can be planted outdoors.

I am a florist trying to get thru Mother’s Day holiday when I slow down yea I will respond with info !!
They can not be planted outdoors. First of spring cut it down to about 4 to 6 inches above the soil and move outside for spring and summer . September bring it inside and from 5pm to 8am cover it with a box or inna dark closet. This goes on for 10 weeks… I have mine on the back porch and they are filling out nicely!
My grandparents owned a greenhouse and floral shop in California for years when I was a kid.. he would grow them for Christmas. He did try to grow outdoors to save the hassle … but the bracs wouldn’t push out the color out to the leaves … just a bit of color at the brac site… they really need total darkness.
