Browning variegation

hey hive mind! any advice to stop the browning on my new pothos?

I got it a month or two ago, have been largely trying to leave it alone to acclimatise. Did give it some new soil with perlite in the last few weeks but i’m sure it was slightly browning before then.

the brown bits aren’t crunchy, almost soft! and my thai constellation monstera (nearby) is also showing a few small brown spots on its variegated parts.

maybe humidity? it’s sitting around 51%. UK climate, -1C outside so heating has been on more recently

thanks!!!
10ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage

The white parts ofvthe leaves dont photosynthesis so the plant tries to shed those parts that arent contributing to its health. Very bright light is key but adding a silica fert drastically helps highly vg leaves maintain their health.
@TheConservator super helpful, thank you! there isn’t much natural light at the moment so i’ll look into fertilising :)
@jasmine1 Do you regularly check the soil for moisture? Because Overwatering: The most common culprit; soggy soil deprives roots of oxygen, causing root rot, yellowing, browning, and soft leaves/stems. ???
@Ms.Persnickety I think i’m all good for overwatering, i’ve been using a moisture meter because it’s a new plant to be extra careful too
@jasmine1 Great a moisture meter is a great tool. something else you might want to consider is the pot your plant is in. Since Plastic is a non-porous material and the soil retains moisture much longer than in a container that lets air in for example Terracotta, just saying.
