Rhizome with no roots but some nodes
I just got this gifted to me from a friend. I have it sitting in water as of right now but I’m worried because I have heard they are pretty tough to take care of. There are nodes but no roots. What is the best way to grow roots and keep this guy healthy?? Please help. Also there is a bit of pinkish- purple hue near the stem is that normal?

Leave it in that water she'll grow some roots in time. I would put her in a clear jar though for more light. You can also propagate in perlite and I do a little bit of soil with my perlite. Or you can do use moss around the nodes and keep the moss moist wrap her up in plastic wrap and let it get some sun you can also add a rooting hormone to these methods good luck.
