Help me with Voldemort!

So my #DarkLordPhilodendron #DarkLord is… unusual. We had to figure out his ideal lighting situation together and so his growth is uneven. He’s really leggy and stringy on the top, and full and luscious on the bottom. I am really tempted to chop him up BUT I don’t know how I’d #ChopAndProp the cuttings. I hate perlite and moss 🀣 is there any hope in hell for me to make 6-8 short one-node cuttings and lay them in water? Or on top of soil? Someone help me with something that’s not leca or pon. I’m getting itchy to whack him down but also want to make more little Voldies! Thanks! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ

Chop it!! πŸ˜† I've need chopping some plants today. I would recommend chopping it in two areas and allowing them to root in water. Then pop them in the same pot so you get a busier plant!
Yes! You can chop and prop a philodendrons in water. You want to make sure that the node is submerged in the water. Make sure you switch out the water regularly to keep oxygen levels up and algae/rot down. It takes awhile (like a month), but it'll root.
I chopped this dragon tail a few weeks ago. It has new growth absolutely everywhere! It's no longer just one stem – it has branched in several places!

I put the cuttings in water and THEY haven't stopped growing!

It's gonna be an amazing-looking plant next year!

You just have to make it through the ugly-stage. πŸ˜†
Oh! And you can totally make more cutting, BUT sometimes, the smaller they are, in my experience, the more easily they can rot.

Oh oh!! You can make a propbox with just moss and a plastic container. My go-to propbox is a Caesar salad box from Costco. πŸ˜‰ Let me see if I can find some pictures. It's too dark to go outside and take pictures of my other #propbox.

Edit: no pictures. ): I'll snag some tomorrow.
