How do I help ensure it flowers?

🀩 Excited plant parent here - Sharon has the first start of a flower... I think, anyways? Previous new leaves started off kind of looking like a magic wand, lol. This stem is shooting off in an unusual spot and is pink!

I recently moved it before I noticed the flowering stem - I'm wondering if I should move it back to its old spot? It might have been warmer but had less light.

Never thought I'd ever get one to flower so any other tips appreciated! 😊 TIA #greggang!

@ballondusoleil Hi Geraldine πŸ‘‹ How exciting!! While it does look like the beginning of a Peduncle it doesn't look like it's complete. There are usually a bunch of those grouped together like the one in the picture that I posted. It's not uncommon for a Hoya to do what's called Bud Blasting which just means that the plant will start to make a bloom then drop it before it grows to maturity. The way I stopped mine from Blasting was by giving it a liquid fertilizer that is high in Phosphorus. The one I use is a 6-12-6 at half strength. I would give that a shot and see if it will help hold on to them. Good luck 🀞πŸ₯°
In case you're curious about what the start of a new leaf looks like! The little perforated "ball" at the top reminds me of a magic wand or septre πŸͺ„
@princesspitstop thanks so much, Heidi! Will check out some new fertilizer. Sad the penduncle might not make it but here's hoping for future flowers! 🀞🌸🌼🌸🏡
@ballondusoleil Yes!!! πŸ’― To future blooms!! I recently entered my Hoya Era within the last year and had MANY Peduncles that I thought were going to make it and every time I was disappointed. 😭 It will happen! If anything Hoya has taught me is patience. I know it sounds cliche. Lol You're obviously doing everything correctly or you wouldn't have new leaves much less the beginnings of a bloom!! I used Medina Hasta Gro plant food if you wanted to Google it. I just noticed that you're in Victoria. Is that Victoria Texas by chance?
@princesspitstop I'm in the Pacific westcoast of Canada but I'll see if I can find Medina Hasta Gro in my area. Thanks for your kind words - plants have taught me a lot about patience and then some! πŸ˜
