Is this a #HoyaCarnosaCompacta ?

This sweetie pie came to me without any information. Greg told me it was a Hoya compacta, and it looks pretty close, but the only reason I’m asking you all for identification help is that not every leaf is curled up and every picture I find of the compacta online is VERY curly. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Question #Hoya #HoyaCarnosaCompacta
8ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage

Hi! Yes, it is 😊
@BabeVila Oh hello again! 😁Thank you and woohoo!
I believe it’s a peperomia maybe a Cupid ..
@Hoyaobsessed the flattened leaves look TOTALLY similar to my Cupid variegated peperomia! I’m just starting out my Hoya journey, and from your username I can tell you might have good experience with hoyas, lol, but what I read online today said that the compacta can sometimes flatten out if it has been in too low light?

I don’t know. So I’ve got it in much better light now and will update if it has any drastic changes, but I agree, those leaves are why I was unsure.
@DreamMachine eep! I defer to @Hoyaobsessed! I trust their judgment more on this one!
Ugh this has me stumped .. lol I keep looking at it … it really could be … it’s just not like any I have seen or grown before … the flat heart shaped leaves in the second pic at the bottom of the plant is honestly what is throwing me off and I guess the color…. If it’s a rope you have a novelty !!
My fist guess was peperomia.
I do grow many Hoyas and have for a very long time and it’s like a Hindu lol but not …. 🀯🀯🀯 I’m going to tag my plant friend and he may be able to give us a good ID @TheConservator
Could you help with this ? Looks like a possible Hindu. . My first glance was no but now I’m thinking well it’s a strange one if it is…. Second pic is what is throwing me off ….
Here are a couple more photos with my baby Cupid peperomia for referencence. This unknown has little roots at its nodes I think?
@BabeVila @Hoyaobsessed
Honestly it looks like 2 completely different plants. I think 2 seperate plants are in there. The tall one looks like a variegated Hindu Rope plant, like @BabeVila said. But the leaves on the the smaller one look like a Cupid Peperomia like @DreamMachine said, because they are heat shaped. The Hindu Rope is never heart shaped even when flattened it is long and oval.

So both are right but I think you have both!!!! 🩷

My Himdu Rope plant.
I dont think it’s a Hindu rope I think it’s another type or peperomia. @SuperbRaspfern .
The color isnt right more like a peperomia and the bottom heart shaped flat leaves are not right and the roots coming out of the nodes in the last picture isnt right for a rope …
I think its a compacta just not a very good specimen. Hard telling what happened to it? But to me it seams alot like the stretched leaf issue weve seen with other hoyas. @Hoyaobsessed
Like that one from home depot
Thin stretched leavesπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.
Ok. @TheConservator @DreamMachine I trust the conservator … can you PLEASE update all of us as it grows more ?? @SuperbRaspfern has a ton of knowledge too…
BUT it just doesn’t look right … but I’d like to see it again once it has put out more Goethe
@Hoyaobsessed that second set of pics, but mainly the close up of the areial roots starting and leaves is why i say compacta
To me this looks more like it ..,.. @TheConservator @DreamMachine
They just seam thin and light dull green. But everything else says compacta.
@Hoyaobsessed it definatemy looks like that tooπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ but im still thinking compacta
Here is another one in a full hanging basket @DreamMachine @TheConservator
lol I’m on a mission now …
@Hoyaobsessed you may be right just cause of the color and variegation?
I have really no experience with peps. Do they get arieal roots like that? @Hoyaobsessed
@TheConservator yeah their Ariel’s do look like that and I am looking at the heart shaped leaves … I believe it’s a peperomia… only time will tell !!!! Thanks for chiming in !!!! @DreamMachine hope this helps you some !!!
Another little bit of info we maybe overlooking is that she saud it was free! I really dont think anyones sending out free compactas! Theyre to hard to root and grow to be a freebie plant . @Hoyaobsessed a peps alot more likely to be a freebie
@SuperbRaspfern 😱 that is GORGEOUS
@TheConservator oh whoops, if I implied it was free that is not the case, I paid for it, but I think it really didn’t have a good start to life.
Thank you all very much! What a little weirdo I have πŸ˜‚ I will definitely update further down the line with its growth and tag you all!! @Hoyaobsessed @BabeVila @SuperbRaspfern @TheConservator

Edit: I have renamed her Pepero-Pacta πŸ˜„
Yes definitely! It will be so fun to see what she grows into!! And she's in a good place now to reach her full potential! 🩷
@Hoyaobsessed HMM πŸ€” what is that one called?
@DreamMachine ahh ok i thought you were saying it was added to an order.
@SuperbRaspfern I’m about to go out and buy a compacta πŸ˜‚
@DreamMachine both those @Hoyaobsessed posted pics of are the cupid pep
@DreamMachine that one in the hanging basket is some type of peperomia… I really do think that is what you have … but yes !! Update us !!!!
@DreamMachine You should, here I'll show you the flowers on mine just know they grow slooooow, about 6 inches a year!
@SuperbRaspfern ooh so very pretty! I will set my expectations low on growth.

And then I’ll set these two together, and keep pointing out the compacta to the β€œpepero-pacta” and saying, β€œnow look what your sibling is doing. Why can’t you be more like them?” πŸ˜‚
@DreamMachine Haha, that's too funny! I love that. πŸ©·πŸ˜‚ That's a perfect name for her, very fitting and creative. She's 1 of a kind.
@SuperbRaspfern I love your Hindu Rope plant it’s beautiful 😻!!!
@JesterLimetuff Thank you, she is very special. I really love her too and she flowers so often. Definitely one of my favorites. 🩷
