Giant Sequoia trees love water, but not excessive amounts, they like to stay consistently moist. Plus lots and lots of sunlight! I have one myself and I may be of help if more information can be provided. :)

@ThrillingPeony I would try and water the tree a lot more. It seems like it isn't quite dead yet. I had the same problem with my Sequoia prior, it was browning like crazy and I didn't know why. Up until I started watering it more and kept the soil consistently moist. They love the moisture. The tree is native to California after all, and is one of the most water demanding trees yet.
