Hi Jacqui...
The watering schedule on Greg is not always accurate, as each individual's home environment is different.
For smaller plants 🪴, you can lift it and if it's lighter then time to water.
A good idea is to water from the bottom as this will guarantee against root rot.
For larger plants, you can stick a chopstick or your index finger in the topsoil about 2" deep. If it comes out dry, it's time to water.
I've been using a water meter for several years and find it to be spot on.
One important tip: never mist your plants!
In doing so, it doesn't benefit the plant but will eventually harm it.
When the topsoil is continously moist from misting, it could create bacterial and fungal infections.
It's also an open door invitation to pesky, obnoxious fungus gnats, which multiply quickly and are a real pain!
Good luck on your plant journey and have fun!
