Questions!

Hello! I have recently gotten back into keeping succulents. I've done a lot of research this time, all my cacti are planted in 50% succulent soil and 50% perlite mix. The larger boobie cactus I bought from a nursery a few days ago. The man at the nursery said to wait a month to water it after I repot it. The smaller boobie cactus and the verigated moon cactus were bought today. They were in super moist soil. Those have been repotted as well. The lithops is in a 80% perlite, 20% succulent soil mix. It was repotted 2 days ago and I haven't watered it. The rest of the succulents are in 60% succulent soil, 40% perlite mix. Those have all been repotted within the last week, so none of them have been watered yet either. They are all in an east facing bay window that gets about 4 hours of direct morning sun. Today I set up a full spectrum grow light. I plan to run it for 12 hours (in conjunction with the natural sunlight). I am going to start with the low intensity and then ramp it up to full brightness over the next week. I plan to bottom water them when the time comes. Every planter has several drainage holes. Is there anything I could do or need to do better? I plan on watering once the soil is completely dry. I am using bamboo skewers for moisture monitoring. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read #succulentlove #growlights #newplantmom #succulentsquad #cactusclique

You’ve definitely done your research and are off to a great start. The only thing I can think to add is to keep an eye on the temp from the window so nothing gets scorched if it’s a lot of sunlight. You can also give the pots a quarter turn every couple of weeks so each side gets light evenly and they don’t start to lean to one side too much.
Awesome, thank you! There is an a/c vent on both ends of the table, I currently have them closed halfway, so there isn't too much of a draft. I will definitely start rotating them!
@Dfly07 I see you have a nice outside patio. Is there a reason why you’re not growing these outside? They would definitely thrive in full sunlight.
@Dfly07 like Kristopher @FamedGymealily said, I think you’re off to a great start! The only thing I would caution against is following exactly another persons watering schedule recommendations, because our home environments are all very unique (especially compared to nurseries). So instead of watering after a certain amount of time has passed, I would water when your particular plant needs it. But, it sounds like you are already planning on doing so πŸ‘ 😁 You have a beautiful collection of plants β™₯️🌿
@Dfly07 good call on the AC vents, I think you totally got this! Looking forward to updates in the future!
@YammieOf3 I worry about bugs when I bring them in over the winter. I feel like if they are indoors I will remember them.πŸ˜†
@DreamMachine Thank you!
@Dfly07 bugs are just bugs it’s part of the plant world LOL. They will definitely thrive outside and I am speaking from experience πŸ˜‰
@Dfly07 not sure why my pictures flipped like that πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”
@Dfly07 I keep mine inside too. I’m glad you enjoy it @YammieOf3 (also it’s a regular Greg glitch now…sideways pics πŸ™ƒ) But bringing them inside and outside and acclimating twice per year, watching the weather for rainstorms, and treating everyone for pests in the autumn just requires too much executive functioning for me. πŸ₯± πŸ˜‚ 🫠
It sounds like you're set up for success.
@YammieOf3 Yeah, what's up with the new photo-flipping Greg feature? You are not alone.
@DreamMachine I can totally understand and relate to this
@YammieOf3 @thenonnon I got a great tip recently! If you are taking the photo in the Greg app, turn your phone to a horizontal position to take the photo! I don’t know why or how, but if you do that, the photos post right side up πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ πŸ‘
