Last watered 5 days ago
@PlantsyPants Sorry to have to break it to you but thatβs overwatering! To make a snake plant thrive, let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and provide bright, indirect sunlight. Use a fast-draining potting mix in a pot with drainage holes, and feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer only during the spring and summer months. Key Care RequirementsWatering (Less is More): Overwatering is the number one killer of snake plants. Water deeply every 2 to 4 weeks, but only when the soil is completely dry throughout the entire pot. During the winter, you can cut back to watering once a month.Light: While they tolerate low light, snake plants prefer bright, indirect sunlight to reach their full growth potential. Place them near an east- or west-facing window.Soil & Potting: Use a chunky, fast-draining soil mix specifically designed for cacti or succulents. Snake plants prefer snug, slightly root-bound pots, which helps prevent overwatering and supports their upright growth.Temperature & Humidity: Keep your plant in a warm environment (65Β°F to 85Β°F). Protect them from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Maintenance & FeedingFertilizing: Snake plants are not heavy feeders. Feed them once a month during their active growing season (spring and summer) using a balanced, diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer.Cleaning: Dust the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth. This helps the plant photosynthesize effectively and keeps pests away.
