Is this a pest?
I walked past my ficus Altissima and I saw these, 2 different leaves.
I plucked them off cause I thought what the hell is a wood tick doing on my plant. The super close one is the underside of one.
Normal? Abnormal? Should I cry? #Ficus #FicusAltissima #altissima #PestControl pestsAndPlants">#pestsAndPlants

@SuperbRaspfern sorry to notify you twice in a row, but what is this?? Haha ππ€¨
Black Scale Insect (Saissetia oleae). They are pretty easy to treat. They are usually stationary and move VERY slowly. While isolation is important it doesn't have to be on the other side of the house from others. (Unless you see ants that will carry them to other plants)
Treat once a week for 3 weeks with:
1 Tablespoom pure neem oil mixed with 4 cups water.
Keep her out of the sun through treatment.
Have you seen any ants? They usually hitch rides on them and then the ants feed on the plants.
@DreamMachine No worries Nadia, glad to help π©·
