Weird white? Pothos

Not sure what’s up with this little #PothosPack #Pothos - it may be nothing. Has been in my bathroom and thriving but I isolated it this week due to some random white spots. None of the other bathroom guys have it. It easily wipes off. Plant pushing out healthy new growth. So then wtf is this?! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ #help #PestControl

So I have heard that when young queen ants leave the nest to mate and start new colonies, they take a mealybug with them. They have a symbolic relationship, so if you’ve seen any ants in your house, it’s possible they’ve brought a mealy, too! I had a mealy on a plant that was the only plant in the room and I’m like howwww??? But it all makes sense now that I’m aware ants are smuggling them in! πŸ˜‚ but I’d just spray some rubbing alcohol or peroxide on that white spot and the whole plant (all plants in the area) just to be sure!
If you're on a well or you have hard water / issues with soap scum & calcification buildup, it could be water droplets condensing on the leaves and leaving minerals behind? It is odd to be that if no other plants are doing it though. πŸ€”
Is this a mealy? If not, sometimes my monsteras get this white stuff on them. They have guttation and once it dries, it dries white and crusty (for a lack of better words πŸ˜‚). I think it could be the salts in the fertilizer or water that I use. So that could be the case for you, too! But definitely check for mealy bugs, that looks suspicious!
@Bplants right?! See I can’t tell. Only this plant and only that one spot. And I haven’t added any new plants to that zone for months.
If you touch the white spot with a QTip soaked in isopropyl alcohol and it turns brownish, it's a mealy.
I've wonder the same things with mealy bugs until I read that ants carry them around, the little feckers. But apparently spraying for ants around the house can help control mealy bugs.
Now if I could just figure out where spider mites come from. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
@Bunny413 hi! No it comes right off. It feels like a residue so I’m going to chalk it up to the humidity in my bathroom. Thanks! Fingers crossed πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ
