any idea what’s going on?
realized over maybe the last week that my echeveria that’s been doing amazing outside since i got it has been looking like this!!! i thought maybe she was just thirsty because she can be a little dramatic and it has been really hot. before picture for reference 😠can anyone in the #SucculentSquad help me out? she’s maybe been in my care for maybe a year or so. zone 10b, for climate references.

@Shoshanaland so far the consensus is too much sun, which is something i didn’t even think was possible! i’ve moved her to a spot that gets bright indirect light except for a few hours that gets full sun in the evening.
@Succulent_Soul she is outside in direct sun, but i had never had an issue with it before. this summer is the hottest so far, though, so i’ll move her to partial sun and hope that helps! we have a spot on our porch that only gets direct sun for a few hours as the sun goes down and indirect at all other times during the day.
@thelifeoflenore that should be fine. Hopefully she gets better soon. This summer has been so hot for me too.
Hi, sorry for the late input, but that is definitely sunburn. If you just purchased it recently & it wasn’t in direct sunlight before, then it is best to slowly over a couple weeks introduce it to more sun. You mentioned it has been hot, so if you water it be careful not to get too much water on the leaves cause that’ll act like a magnifying glass & burn/rot your leaves when the sun hits it, also water in the coolest part of the day so the roots don’t boil! She will be okay 😊
Also, if you start to see it lose its compact shape & elongate, it needs more sun. As I said slowly increase the amount of direct sun & she shouldn’t have a problem getting burnt eventually!
