Dracaena in bad shape. Any tips?

We have Mar a cornstalk Dracaena since August 2025 and she was in a really good condition, growing in size and growing new leaves too with a vibrant deep green colour. Two months ago we noticed the leaves had been curling and kinda drooping, we let it pass since we thought just needed some water, but few days after watering still nothing changed. 2 weeks ago we realized the roots were outgrowing the small plastic pot she had so immediately moved to a new terracotta pot 2in bigger, but as of now, it’s still the same. Today we even found a brown leaf. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you manage it? #HappyPlants #Dracaena #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
5ft to light, indirect
9” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago
Was the brown leaf kind of squishy like it was full of water? Or more crispy? How often do you water it?
@ihave1plant the leaf was more like crispy, but it was yellow, green-ish and brown :/ and I watered it once a week
@LoyalWaxplant59 okay! Probably needs less water than that cause it looks like it’s in a pretty big pot. Depends how warm your climate gets and how much sun it gets but I would recommend a good soak through every couple weeks rather than small amounts more frequently :)
Corn Plants dont like too much water. They much rather dry out in between waterings. I have two that I've had since 2024 . One "Aretha " lives with a Golden Pothos in the bottom of her pot. And had exploded in Growth since I've had her. I have a second one "Matilda, (after the movie "The Professional ") And Aretha looks like her Golden Pothos is her Feather Boa, just like Aretha F.. With CornPlants less is more for a Healthy Thriving plant. Gritty soil with perlite , orchid bark etc..helps roots breath..
Matilda
See this growth. Sign of a very happy and healthy Plant. She's starting a.new whole Branch!
I have two that I propagated now a third one. The mother plant is 21 years old! Still thriving and producing a new top leaves. These plants are easy to care for. These plants also flower after many years of care. Every two weeks water them, test them 2 inches deep if dry time to water. If cool damp wait especially in the winter seasons. Good luck! Oh the trunk base main cane can callous and that’s ok.
