It’s generally recommended for plants to be repotted every couple of years(1-3 depending on how quick it’s growing) I don’t know if that rule applies to cacti or not but that’s what I know! If you do repot you must size up at least 10%!

Agree with @Slyvie that even if the plant isn't rootbound, you can repot back into the same pot with fresh soil to replenish the nutrients to support its growth. Best of luck! 🪴✨️
