@MockingJay So cool! So many things that you can make with them too! I saw someone make a "trellis" for their plants to grow onto. I forget who it was on here who did it. I'd be making so many pots the machine would be smoking! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Good job! I can't wait to see what you make!
I'm just adding a pic of the oddish-pot I bought a while ago too, as it is 3D-printed, but not by me. Planning to make some more of these when I get the right filament๐Ÿ˜„
Wow!!!
I haven't made any pots yet, but I have a 3d printer!
So cute!
Is that Bulbasaur @MockingJay? That's fantastic! My daughter isn't into plants much but she would adore those, she loves Pokemon. That Oddish is so cute!
@MockingJay lovely
soo adorable!!
Very cute
The plant/pot combo couldnโ€™t be more perfect for eachother ๐Ÿ˜ญ awesome job!!
Nice
Awesome!!! We have a 3D printer but Iโ€™ve never made anything planty. I will say that depending on your printer and what software you use, there are tons of free plans out there! There is also paint that you can use (like acrylic paint pens)
Thank you all for your comments๐Ÿ˜„
@princesspitstop that sounds awsome! We really need our own hashtag for 3D-printed planty-things๐Ÿ˜„
@SimpleSucc just think about all the possibillities ๐Ÿค‘
@BuffCaperspurge oh my๐Ÿ™ˆ
@FairyFly it is indeed a very blue bulbasaur๐Ÿ˜„ Hoping my little cobweb chick will grow into him well๐Ÿ˜„ The oddish has a birds nest snake plant that fits perfect! I have printed a test-oddish too that I am going to put a green spider-plant in. Easy plants to maintain, maybe something for your daughter๐Ÿ˜„
@RealSimpleMama yes I found this cute bulbasaur as a free file๐Ÿ˜„ But I am a playground-designer (landscape architect), so I am used to 3D-modelling and am looking forward to making some of my own designs too๐Ÿ˜„
I will indeed try some paint, I have bought primer, but I think the result usually isn't that great with paint๐Ÿ™ˆ It was ok with painting only the mouth and eyes of the oddish though ๐Ÿ˜„
Yes!! I have a 3d printer, though I mainly have been using it for other plant related things. Recently I designed some tags (mine kept breaking in the sun and fading), supports to hold a big grow light, and a little stand for a tiny fan for my Cephalotus & Heliamphora! It's so fun ๐Ÿ˜„โœจ๏ธ you'll have a blast!
@MockingJay The #3dprint hashtag you added to your post has 3 members so far! Start promoting it by telling people about it and invite them to join! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ It will be a "thing" before you know it!
@MockingJay @HayleyQ is who I was talking about that has made a lot of things with her printer! Click on the #3dprint and you'll see her post right under yours with pics!
It's a great tool/let's be honest toy to have. Ran short on pots, pick one and print it, or make your own to be exactly what you want it to be!
Yesssss! 3d printer gang! I have made toooo many things in my garden/patio area with my 3d printer, so much so that Iโ€™ve even started my own online business out of it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅฐ these were my very first prints, Iโ€™ll have to get some updated photos of all the new things Iโ€™ve made! Have the most amazing time, itโ€™s so much fun! ๐Ÿ˜
I love my 3D printer! I have made several plant pots and has helped me learn so much.
@Merranda, @SteadyAirpotato so many possibillities!๐Ÿ˜„
@HayleyQ that is so cool๐Ÿ˜„ Yes we need updates on all your planty prints!
@JovialCaitlin those look really great! And what cool filament color!
@JovialCaitlin That yellow pot is precious!! I'd buy it! @SteadyAirpotato I know that the cost of filament alone is ridiculously expensive which in order to make a profit the pot would be up there. Did I get that right? I've only read about it and that was the conclusion I came up with. ๐Ÿ˜Š Give me the dirt (no pun intended) hahaha Weighing my options, considering purchasing one.
@MockingJay perfect plant for that pot ๐Ÿ˜. I've seen the bublasaur one for a while but not printed it. I have printed inner pots more than outer ones as some of the nice ceramic ones dont fit nicely with the plastic ones i can buy
@princesspitstop filament prices vary in price quite a bit depending on material, color etc. You can get a 1kg roll of quite a few of the commonly used materials like pla, pla+, petg for around $15 bucks. Depending on the size of a pot you'd print, say you use 200g of filament. Comfortably, you could do 4 pots off that one roll. The fifth would be tough as things happen with 3d printing and prints fail here and there. So that's a base price of 5 dollars a pot for a 4 or 4 inch pot. That also depends on thickness you set up for the walls, infill, etc. But that's a long-winded response already, so I'll cut it off here!
@TheLonelyDaff I am aiming to print pots with holes so I donโ€™t need an inner pot in them. I drilled a hole in bulbasaur as it didn't have any๐Ÿ˜… The oddish I got actually has a "shithole" ๐Ÿ˜‚ which isn't directly at the bottom, so it doesn't even need a tray I just tilt it to make the extra water drain and put it back in place๐Ÿ˜„ But I have seen oddish ones with a cute leaf-tray you can print too.

But I have been thinking about printing some inner-pots with more airflow for my orchids๐Ÿ˜„
@SteadyAirpotato Thanks Dan! That's not as bad as I thought! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
That's so adorable!
