Why is the flower fading and feel like thin paper?

Mine will do that when the quill is at the end of its blooming cycle. Remove it when it turns brown. Snip it close to the base. After this, be on the look out for new pups / quills.

The leaves seem a little dry but looks like new leaves are growing.
