Calling on #succulentlove #succulentsquad

Haworthia cooperi and Haworthia obtusa....both of them have lost almost any plumpness. It's like they aren't taking in any water. One of my mixed succulent bowls had a couple of plants doing this, and I had it in fairly high light ...I moved it to lower light and the Gasteria started to plump back up.
Anyone else have experience with their "juicy" Haworthia plants deflating? If so, have you found a way to improve that? A pic of what it currently looks like, and an internet pic of what it's supposed to look like (in comments).

Mine seem to do that when they get harsh direct light. I try to put them in a bright but shady spot or in the shade of a bigger plant
What it should look like
@ehery Eipeen, @vvvelo Volodymyr,
Any ideas?
And my obtusa vs what it should look like. Obtusa and cooperi are close in appearance, I just think one is a little chunkier.
Usually when mine are wrinkly, soft, they need water. Maybe it’s too much light ? I know haworthia are sensitive to too much sun. Have you checked the roots ?
It looks really thirsty, but you should check roots. They also could be getting to much light .
@UltraKoreanfir Melisse that is really strange but I also noticed the soil is a bit different looking too. Is that just a topping? I am interested in what’s up with thisðŸĪ·ðŸžâ€â™€ïļ
@CourtlyKingfern. oh, yes ...I put dessert sand on as a topper thinking it may help keep gnats from digging into the surface. The plant was like this before I added that 😊
@ehery @TidyTigerpear @VipSeraphina @CourtlyKingfern Thanks all. I have checked the roots and thought they were ok, so The first thing I will try is lower light, as they've been sitting under some pretty bright grow lights for some time now.
Sometimes mine will do this if it’s getting to much direct sun. The ones with translucent leaves tend to brown easier, so you can’t have them strong light even indoors. I’ll attach an example of what the coloring looks like from too much sun. Usually they just need water and they perk back up. However Haworthias don’t like to mucb light, but some are more sensitive like the translucent leaved ones. I water them I can tell they are less firm, or concave. Like you said they have plump leaves so they deflate when thirsty.
Basically the are sensitive to light , you have to find the right balance because some of my Haworthias can handle brighter light, but some of them willl not, hence the brown colorings on my first picture in my last comment lol. Hope this helps
@TidyTigerpear Thanks. I think it's too much light also. But at the same time, it basically refuses to plump up. ðŸĪ·â€â™€ïļ
@UltraKoreanfir I would check to see if your soil is compact or hydrophobic? Maybe need some aeration or new soil? Also check your roots system.
