What's wrong with her?

My syngonium red arrow was full and happy. But when she started to get yellowing leaves, I moved her further away from the east-facing window, thinking it was too much sunlight. She's still near a humidifier, and she doesn't get as much direct light. Watering is fine. But she's still not happy. I hear they're a little different from your average syngonium. What am I doing wrong? #syngonium #syngoniumsquad #llanocartiroad #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict

I love red arrows! It's been on my wishlist forever ๐Ÿ˜ป I'm pretty sure this isn't an issue of too much light. Actually, I think the east-facing window is a great spot for her (AM sun is typically gentle enough for Syngoniums). Since the yellowing leaves look like they're mostly concentrated near the bottom of the plant, it could be a combo of the oldest leaves dying off and overwatering. Red Arrows are a bit more drought tolerant than other Syngoniums, so unfortunately they're also more susceptible to root rot ๐Ÿ˜

The photo showing your soil...is that the mix throughout the whole pot? How do you normally check to see how well it's dried out before watering?
@stephonicle, I use my moisture meter or a bamboo stick. I went ahead and decided to repot. I cut away the yellow leaves. The soil was moist but not super wet. The roots look ok, but maybe I'm wrong?
Sometimes if the roots are too long it takes too much energy to get the nutrients to the plant. I usually trim mine mine back.. But that is up to you... ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿœ๐Ÿž๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒต๐Ÿชด๐Ÿ„
@ZestyWhiteghost, I repotted her and gave her a little water. Waited a few days, and she just started looking worse. It no longer felt good to look at her anymore, so I tossed her. Never again for the red arrow. This was my third try. Thanks anyway.
@wolfqueen I have some like that too... Orchids! Never again!
