Open to suggestions!
I need to divide my Plume Asparagus Fern. I tried cutting through the roots with a knife but I cut off about 7 fronds ð and a couple dozen corms. So my question to the beautifully intelligent #greggang is how to proceed? Continue cutting and incur more collateral damage? Also, I know I can replant the corms but what about the stems that got cut off? Can they be propagated? I am all ears for any tips anyone wants to share! Thank you!!!! #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #propagationstation
It's not my field (I know about succulents), but from analogy try to untangle by hand as much as you can, and try to avoid using the knife for separating roots.
Separate when roots are dry, to prevent root rot.
Sterilise knife with 70% isopropyl alcohol and cut between the stems. Sprinkle cinnamon on cut stems and on the roots (antifungal and antibacterial properties).
Plant in dry soil, do not water for 2 days.
