White bugs in my prayer plant soil.
What are these white bugs in my plants soil and coming out when I water my prayer plant?? What do I need to do to get rid of them? Also one of my leaves arenβt looking very good. #PrayerPlant #helpneeded #NewPlantMom

@SvelteKingfern I havenβt noticed them lately, but about a month ago I felt there were a lot of gnats flying around.
This solution won't harm your plant in any way. When you water the plant, you will see some sizzling. This is normal. It's hydrogen peroxide changing to water and oxygen. That oxygen will kill fungus gnats in the soil. To kill flying fungus gnats you may get yellow sticking squares, and place them near your plant. Fungus gnats will get stuck; this will reduce their population. You can get these sticking squares at Amazon or at any nursery.
Apply hydrogen peroxide solution every time you water your plant, for 2 months. This will kill fungus gnats for good.

I believe the white bugs are springtails. Usually benefical, but they multiply like crazy if the soil is kept too moist. Easiest way to reduce numbers is let the soil dry a litte more between watering. You don't have to get rid of them, they compost the soil.
Fungus gnat larvae are more see-through with black head and digestion. And will usually not reveal themself when you water. (But if you have them flying around, they are likely to be in there too).
Posting pic of both.
Not sure about your leaf though.. could be a little dry air? Or maybe too much or too little fertilizer. Maybe just some physical damage. Check for pests?
