Why are my aloe leaves curling and flattening like this? ...

#AloeVera
@RJG @vvvelo and @kscape can you guys help
@PlanTechnik Your aloe looks overwatered. There’s no way to revert the damage other than to let it dry in a bright, sunny area and hope that it bounces back. I would avoid watering for at least a week. Aloes in the summer need water about every 9-12 days.

@ABCD Try answering some questions! I read books and search online, and that’s how I learn about plants! You must be good at helping too, I know you’ve at least helped 5 people with β€œBest Answerβ€πŸ˜ŠπŸŒΏ
@kscape I do I just don’t really get succulents. Not my fav
@ABCD understandable. 😊
@kscape that does make sense. These are babies from a plant my mom had and she definitely watered too much. I planted these on May 29th and haven’t watered yet (all the resources I’ve seen say wait a couple weeks - Greg included - so another few days of waiting. Looking online I thought they were over watered but wondered how cause I haven’t touched them yet. Thanks for the reply! I’ll stay the course!
@PlanTechnik Some plants tend to die a few weeks after being overwatered. I lost a succulent a couple of days ago that I purchased from a big box store and they seemed to have overwatered. Had it for two weeks and all leaves eventually fell off and the succulent died. Didn’t water it once.

It’s possible that this can/may happen, but from the looks of it, the aloe looks like it’s struggling a lot. Make sure to keep it away from direct sun or it’ll scorch your aloe! 😊
@kscape it’s possible in this case. My mom literally had 3 decent sized pots overflowing with aloe plants and she didn’t follow succulent specific maintenance. I live in an apartment on the southwest corner of my building so they get 3-4 hours of bright indirect sun each day. I’ll cross my fingers and hope they recover. Thanks again for chiming in!
Totally normal as far as I can tell. This is an Aloe baby that came to me. The leaves deflated as it grew new roots and with a little care that tiny leaf in the middle is new growth.
@Greenfinger β€œleaves deflated as it grew new roots”. Hadn’t considered this but makes sense! Mine are only like 10 days into their new pots so that could very well be what’s going on. Thanks!
You’re good. Water sparingly and give it time. It’s been a month for mine to get that little leaf. Maybe I’m not doing it the most efficient way but it’s working and I’m learning. Good luck πŸ‘πŸ€
You can lift it up a little and you’ll be able to tell if it has rooted or not. That part took a couple weeks. Mine came as a cutting, no roots.
