Why are the bottom leaves on my succulents dried up?

Is this from not enough water or too much sun?

Because your plant is growing or getting ready to! It is using its energy for other things. Pluck them off. Once they start to decay, they can attract pests like mealy bugs or fungus gnats.
Likely the former. it would take a lot of sun to sun damage this little guy that bad.
The bottom leaves drying is normal for succulents that is shaped like that– like a rose! Twist the dried leaves and Just pluck it out and you'll be finr
I agree that this is normal for succulents
@Hypsie good to know, thank you! I’ll pluck them off.
@nila Enjoy. It’s so satisfying! If you have a hard time, tweezers work great. Just wiggle the leaf from side to side. Should pop right off.
