What’s happening to these leaves?

My young #Tuberose plant and newly emerging #Gladiolus stalks are showing small vertical slit type β€œholes” in the longer leaf and I’ve never seen this before so I don’t know what it is and how to fix it.
Is this some kind of bug effect? Is it watering or weather? We had a couple of cooler nights this week than previous weeks but the other plants all seem to be doing well. #NewGrowth #OutdoorGrowing #OutdoorGarden #PestControl #WhatAmIDoingWrong #NewPlantMom #Zone9
Do you have a cat or other animals present?
@Seedstarter I have a dog who doesn’t mess with these containers but we do have stray cats in our neighborhood. Do you think this is them at work?
@AamchiWaadi The irregular holes, like someone took a stapler remover and punctured and pulled on the leaves, plus the way one is straight-up ripped apart, tell me a cat has taken a liking to your plant. They tend to really like plants that resemble blades of grass.
@Seedstarter Oh no! Any ideas for discouraging them from batting with the blades?
@AamchiWaadi You can make a deterrent. For example, cats don't like the smell of citrus. You could get some rinds from a lemon, orange, or lime and place them around your plants; they'll decompose, so you don't have to worry about a mess. Plus, they make good fertilizer. Or you could get some lemon or lime juice, mix it with water, and spray it on the plant, making both a taste and smell deterrent. There are also products you could try on Amazon if you don't want to do any of these.
